Heather frae the Glenkens Hills I’ve gathered roses near Glenlee And wild flowers by the Mill. To you I send the choicest Frae the Garroch hill. It grew on yon bonny bank Beside the rowan tree. Where oft we wandered at oor will Oor hearts were fu’ o’ glee. And tho’ thae days a’ past and gane Can never mair return I oft think o’ the happy days We spent by Garroch burn. This poem was given by Mrs Glendinning, Kirkland street. The author is unknown. |
